The Company
Founded nearly 30 years ago, our client is well known, highly regarded supplier of automotive parts to the global automotive OEM/OES and aftermarket industries. The majority of their several hundred million dollars in sales is concentrated in the North American aftermarket where they enjoy solid relationships with the industry’s most prominent retailers and distributors.
In addition to their North American headquarters and distribution network, the Company maintains an international footprint with offices around the globe. It operates state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, along with international engineering and technical resources.
The Company has been growing organically by double digits almost every year since their inception. An aggressive new product development effort (brand new and existing categories), growing “wallet share” with existing customers as well as adding new customers have all resulted in the dynamic growth the Company continues to experience. This growth is driving the Company to create several new positions, including the position below.
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Marketing is responsible for all advertising, promotions, branding, graphic design and digital presence in support of all Company product and customer marketing initiatives (for both proprietary and private label/customer brands). The position is based remotely at the hired individual’s home office, with travel as necessary to the Company’s headquarters.
The Director of Marketing works cross-functionally with all departments, but especially with senior sales managers and the Product Management team. He/she will develop/drive effective marketing plans that showcase and drive sales and awareness to the Company’s products, brands, customers and industry.
Responsibilities
- Ensure consistent messaging and brand positioning while executing all marketing campaigns, branding initiatives, advertising, promotions and public relations activities.
- Work closely with customers to gather insights and identify marketing opportunities. Develop end user and customer-specific promotions and advertising. Accountable for strategy execution of all digital touchpoints for B2B channels.
- Develop and manage Company’s digital library and customer portal for all marketing materials, customer e-commerce initiatives, logos, ads, technical information, etc. Facilitate ease of use for all customers and internal stakeholders/departments.
- Maintain/enhance Company website to reflect the overall quality of products and services.
- Manage all trade show materials and participation – booth, signage, flyers, etc.
- Monitor and analyze marketing performance and identify areas for improvement. Develop KPI’s and other metrics to measure the effectiveness of strategies and campaigns.
- Manage expenses and vendor relationships for optimal return on investment. Engage new/change vendors as necessary.
- Provide regular reporting internally to executive team and all relevant stakeholders. Ensure coordination between departments to drive customer-centric approaches that enhance customer experiences and drive sales.
- Assure all marketing materials meet/are in compliance with all legal standards and protections/copyrights.
- Respectfully and diligently take on other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of comprehensive, progressively responsible marketing management experience – ideally within an automotive aftermarket parts supplier environment.
- A strategic thought Leader with a “big picture” perspective and strong attention to details.
- Excellent overall communication skills – written, verbal and interpersonal.
- Time management skills that allow for parallel path work and delivering budgets/results on time.
- Highly analytical and data driven. Makes optimal decisions through insights that are generated through relentless study and analysis of the data.
- A team-oriented, natural collaborator that embraces the involvement of others at all levels.
- In-depth knowledge/proficiency in digital/marketing strategies, analytics, advertising, PR, promotions, market research, social media, SEO, etc.
- Ability to analyze market trends, competitors, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and inform decision-making.
- Strong relationship-building skills to establish partnerships and collaboration with all internal and external/customer stakeholders.
- Financial acumen to manage marketing budgets, analyze ROI, and make data-driven decisions.
- Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, growing and evolving business environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, or related field.
